OUR PROCESS
  • CONCEPT

We begin by understanding the function of the space and layer in fabric, trim, and hardware, working closely with designers to bring their vision to life.

  • QUOTE

Once the concept is refined and approved, we provide quotes, create samples and renderings, then start production with a clear plan and timeline.

  • EXECUTION

After materials are approved, we finalize installation dates and measurements. Each custom piece is built in-house, ensuring accuracy and quality from start to finish.

  • INSTALLATION

Hardware is installed several days before treatments to allow adjustments. For the final reveal, our seamstresses hang, steam, and finish each treatment on-site.

TECHNIQUES

Patchwork

This collection of works is inspired by Pojagi, the traditional Korean textile art known for its patchwork technique. This method has been adapted to create large-scale textile pieces that function as room dividers, window treatments, and bedspreads. We reinvent the technique’s signature geometry and reversibility through a contemporary lens.

Our work is installed in several Othership locations, including New York, and has been featured in Azure Magazine.

Beadwork

These pieces feature detailed beadwork meticulously applied by hand, a time-intensive process that demonstrates a strong commitment to craftsmanship. The designs are often inspired by the fabric or wallpaper motifs, and sometimes by our imagination.

Custom Hardware

Hardware is a crucial component of window treatments, providing both function and style. We design and craft custom hardware tailored to each project, ensuring a perfect fit, smooth operation, and a unique aesthetic. As automation becomes increasingly standard, we integrate it into the design of our hardware.

Black & Yellow Embroidery

This project features yellow curtains embroidered with a hand-drawn black design, entirely stitched in-house. Created by our team from concept to execution, the pattern balances creativity and precision, adding both character and purpose to the piece.

Our work was featured in Canadian House & Home Magazine.

Black & White Embroidery

The black and white square design blends classic embroidery techniques with a modern aesthetic. Embroidered cord is carefully stitched over black and white grosgrain tape, creating a bold, textural detail. Positioned along the leading edge, the design draws attention to the curtain’s clean, geometric form.

Embroidery (Trapunto)

Trapunto is a traditional Italian quilting technique that creates a raised, padded effect through layered stitching, We've reinvented this method for modern use, applying it to the leading edges of curtains, cushions, and wall upholstery. The result is a subtle, structured detail that adds depth and texture to soft furnishings.

Painting

Painting is a simple yet expressive way of embellishing fabrics, with designs hand-painted directly onto the surface. Each piece reflects the individual style of the artist, making every item unique. To highlight certain areas, we sometimes add small details like metallic embroidery or beads, giving the design added texture and contrast.

Appliqué

Appliqué is an ornamental technique that involves stitching smaller pieces of fabric onto a larger base to create intricate patterns or motifs. While traditionally done with fabric, we explore its potential in both contemporary and classic styles using materials like leather, feathers, and even glass for a distinctive and customizable finish.

Morse Code Curtains

This piece features a metallic hem stitch at the bottom of the curtains, detailed with wooden beads that embed a message in Morse code. The pattern was carefully designed using a phrase meaningful to the client, turning the hem into a subtle, personalized statement. Each meticulously placed bead forms a meaningful pattern, reflecting our commitment to storytelling through design.

Shutters

Locally sourced, custom-painted shutters are just the starting point. We create couture shutters by wrapping them in leather veins, applying a lacquered piano finish to the wood, or even replacing wood panels with glass veins. Our approach reinvents shutters by blending luxury materials like leather and glass for a unique, high-end look.

Grosgrain

This collection features grosgrain ribbon detailing along the leading edge, creating a crisp and structured finish. The texture of the ribbon adds a subtle contrast and defines the clean lines of each piece. It’s a subtle detail that brings definition and a finished look, elevating the overall design.

Blinds

Blinds are a classic window treatment style, often functional and motorized, offering endless styles and opportunities to incorporate custom details. Their versatility allows for seamless integration of automation and personalized design elements to enhance any space.

Curtains

The beginning of soft furnishings is curtain making. These are a collection of handcrafted curtains, where every stitch, pleat, and trim is finished by hand. It's the dedication to handwork and attention to detail that defines the quality and uniqueness of our curtains.

Fringe

Fringe adds texture, depth, and gentle motion to soft furnishings, transforming simple edges into flowing, dynamic accents. This detail elevates the overall look by bringing both visual interest and a sense of movement to the design.

Tiebacks**

From custom tiebacks to softly frayed edges and elegant frills, our bespoke details add character and style to any project. Each element is carefully made to complement and enhance the overall design.

Ceiling Treatments

This project involved creating a custom ceiling installation using 700 yards of double-width sheer fabric. Sculpted into layered waves, this piece added softness, movement, and a quiet sense of transformation to the space.
