Company:

The company made its mark when, in 1994, it began producing hand sewn window treatments, precisely finished to a level not seen before in the Canadian market. In 2001 Studio La Beaute moved to a free-standing 3500 sq.ft. studio in mid-town Toronto and has a gallery in the trendy Yorkville district. Studio La Beaute works exclusively with designers and architects, both locally and internationally, on high end residential and commercial projects. These may be comprised of an entire residential estate to boutique hotel furnishings and bedding. The original vision of couture level soft furnishing has grown significantly and the company is now able to produce any interior furnishing of the highest quality. Studio La Beaute is involved in a project from its initial conception to assisting the designer in the selection of materials. The skill and dedication of the company’s two principals and entire staff ensure that the fabrication installation and final hanging and steaming of a window treatment is completed to the highest standards.

Principals:

Camal Pirbhai
Apprenticed and worked in London (UK) before moving back to Toronto, he learned the art of hand sewing curtains and the intricacies of installing and dressing window treatments at the base of this craft in England.  With a Fine-Arts background, Camal always tries to add that “extra something” while understanding that traditional techniques of the work should not be compromised. He seeks to maintain the delicate balance between European quality and North American style.

Giani Tariello
A career in woman’s couture fashion, as a designer, was the initial step towards a career in designing and creating curtains and other soft furnishings. As the third generation of gentlemen’s tailors, sewing and fabrics are a fundamental part of his consciousness. After 15 years of working with couture curtains, he has designed soft furnishings and jewelry as he searches new avenues to express his vision. Giani brings the details and techniques of haut couture to interior furnishings, with his sensibility resulting in elegant, unique pieces of luxurious environments.

Philosophy:

The entire team at Studio La Beaute takes a personal interest in each project. Irrespective of size, every project is treated with meticulous care. The realization of some of the more challenging ideas and the increased creative and manufacturing time resulting in achieving our goals is revered as a challenge to our skill and talent. We learn and we grow from every project and bestow, on every finished project, a trace of our passion.
